Setting up Closed Caption Profiles

Note: This process is available only to Institutional Administrators!

If your institution has a relationship with one of the third-party caption providers that partners with Warpwire, then you can set up a profile so that your users can request captions for videos.

Watch the following video for a high level view of managing caption profiles, then read on for vendor-specific documentation.

Caption Profiles in the Admin Tool

Okay! With those prerequisites squared away, let's go to the Warpwire Admin Tool and get started!

To navigate to the Warpwire Admin Tool, first click your username in the upper-right corner of the screen, then click "Warpwire Admin."

Select "Closed Caption Requests" from the drop down menu in the upper-left of the page.

Now, because you haven't set up a closed caption profile, you won't see any caption requests on this page, because no one has been able to make a request yet!

Click "Manage Profiles" in the upper-right of the screen. Then, click "Add Profile" to create your first profile.

'Add Profile' link in upper-right of Admin Tool

When you click "Add Profile," you'll be able to give your new profile a name, and optionally designate it as the default profile for requests.

You'll then select which caption provider you wish to use, and input the corresponding key and secret for that provider.

Select the quality of caption from the provider's options (from mechanical captioning to professional quality) and the desired turnaround time.
